The Vision

It’s not everyday that we get to step into a project where the goal is to capture the spirit of somewhere as old and as iconic as Atlanta’s own, Oakland Cemetery. Oakland has spent it’s almost two centuries evolving into much more than what it was when it started.

Through many visits and conversations we began to see a theme: multiplicity.

Oakland is not just one thing; it’s many things at once. It’s a serene oasis where people can escape the noise and stress of daily life, yet it’s also a place where stories of struggle, hardship, and loss are etched into its landscape. It’s a place of remembrance, sorrow, and reflection, yet it’s also a venue for life’s most joyful moments.

A set of Oakland Cemetery Brochures highlights key cemetery themes, including African American Burial Grounds, Jewish Sections, Female Statuary, and Oakland Cemetery history.
Exterior Oakland Cemetery signage displays the Pedestrian Gate map, wayfinding information, and bold vertical Oakland branding against a cemetery backdrop.
